Lima Area Local #438 emerged out of the need for worker representation and the desire for collective actions to speak louder than individual words. Our dedicated leadership team of experienced members is always on the ball, utilizing their unique skills and passion to move the vision of our Postal Service Union forward. We’re always pushing ourselves to stay ahead of the curve and striving to perfect our campaigns. Meet some of our incredible leaders below. Michael McKitrick II
President
Michael joined our local's team as the appointed Associated Offices for about 9 months before running and being elected president on April 1st, 2024. Michael's goal is to bring with him the vision and drive to improve upon our Local Union and has focused on developing the organization with transparency and integrity. Building relationships with the other locals in our area and from across the country. Looking to help provide the members with the information needed to know when it is time to file a grievance.

Michele offered to step up and help our Local by running for Secretary-Treasurer twice and has been an invaluable resource with her ability to keep all of the back office and other priorities in check for us.

Lima Tour 2 Steward
The President shall appoint, with the approval of the Executive Board, the head steward for each tour and associate office cluster, Cluster determined by the Executive board. They shall be responsible for initiating all Step 1 grievances and forwarding all pertinent material to the Step II Designee. Associate Office Stewards will be assigned to serve a set Cluster around a Level 20 Office. There can be three (3) Associate Office Cluster Stewards.
Primary steward of each tour and Associate Office Cluster shall be paid $200 per quarter.

Maintenance Steward
The President shall appoint, with the approval of the Executive Board, the head steward for each tour and associate office cluster, Cluster determined by the Executive board. They shall be responsible for initiating all Step 1 grievances and forwarding all pertinent material to the Step II Designee. Associate Office Stewards will be assigned to serve a set Cluster around a Level 20 Office. There can be three (3) Associate Office Cluster Stewards.

Executive Vice-President
The Executive Vice-President shall perform the duties of the President in the event the President is unable to perform those duties. He/she shall interview all non-members, serve as Chairman of the Organization Committee, and serve as Step 2 designee in the areas determined by the Executive Board. He/she shall coordinate and process all grievances to Step 3 and beyond for those areas. He/she shall assist the Associate Office Representative in the processing of grievances when asked by the AO Rep. He/she shall perform such other duties as directed by the President.
The Executive Vice-Presidents wages shall be $400.00 per quarter.

Maintenance Craft Director
The Maintenance Craft Director shall be responsible for coordinating and processing all Maintenance (not Vehicle Maintenance) grievances to Step 3 and beyond in the Lima Area Local. He/she shall be the Step 2 designee for all maintenance grievances. He/she shall perform such other duties as directed by the President.
The Maintenance Craft Director's wages shall be $275.00 per quarter.

The Editor will be responsible for ensuring the publication of “The Activator" as directed by the Executive Board.
The wages shall be $75.00 per edition.
